Jeep has pulled the wraps off the 2013 Grand Cherokee SRT8 today and announced two new special editions for the high-horsepower SUV. The black Vapor and white Alpine Grand Cherokee SRT8s are the only new real updates for the 2013 model, which now carries a $60,920 base price – add $2495 for the Vapor and Alpine edition models. The Grand Cherokee SRT8 is still powered by the same 6.4-liter V-8 with 470 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. As was the case with last year’s Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket and Charger SRT8 Super Bee, the Alpine and Vapor editions are essentially unique trim packages. The 2013 Grand Cherokee SRT8 Alpine edition comes in Bright White paint (a color not otherwise available on the Grand Cherokee SRT8), and gets a gloss black seven-slat grille, badging, rear light bar, and step pad. To finish off the look, the Alpine edition is upgraded with the Grand Cherokee SRT8’s standard 20-inch split 5-spoke finished in Black Vapor Chrome. The Grand Cherokee SRT8 Vapor edition receives all of the blacked-out goodies on the Alpine edition, but features Brilliant Black paint, completing the murdered-out look. The Grand Cherokee SRT8’s previously optional $4495 Luxury Group II package is now standard. That package includes premium leather door trim, premium instrument panel and center console, and power liftgate. With that in mind, the pre-refresh 2013 Grand Cherokee SRT8 now starts at $60,920 (including destination). Add the Alpine or Vapor edition packages and the Jeep will cost $63,415.
